Tracing Effect

I saw a tutorial or demo movie on this a while back, but now I can’t find it. Any suggestions? I’m looking to replicate the effect of the outline of the girl being drawn, followed by the photo of her fading in:

then that is a simple effect using mask or masks

I don’t know if this is what you’re looking for but it should help with the tracing out of the outline of the picture so it looks like its being drawn
