Hi, this is my first post on the Kirupa forums and hopefully not my last, so Ill just start by saying this site has been incredibly useful for getting me acquainted with more advanced flash techniques and animation.
The problem I am having is I am creating a flash CD on a DJ, and as such there are many different pages within this CD. What I want to achieve, is a transitional effect between two pages, for example the hierarchy of my CD for the about section contains the following links;
Introduction, Past, Present, Future
Lets say you are on the introduction page, and then you click on the present link. What I would like to happen is that the content for the introduction page is masked out, and then the animation to put the content for the “future” page begins. So far the only way I have been able to think of doing this effect is by making the mask out for every possible link combination, which would mean for that particular area I would have 12 possible scenarious for page transitions.
I have a feeling there would be some way of doing this with action script but I cant think of any way. If anyone knows of a particular tutorial for creating such transitions or would be able to assist, it would be very much appreciated.
