Transitions & external files

Okay so I was doing the tutorial here on Kirupa:This tutorial About having transitions between external .swf’s. I’m pretty sure that I followed instructions and did everything correctly. The problem is that it wasn’t working… I think it might have something to do with my buttons/menu being inside of a Movie Clip. What adjustments do I have to make to the AS to make it work?

Well, I’m almost positive that the problem is that I have my buttons inside of the Movie Clip. I’ve tried adding _root. to my script but that just wasn’t working (or I added it in the wrong place)… as far as the rest of the script goes, it’s the exact same script from the tutorial.

Can’t post the file, though I’ll see if I can duplicate the situation in an example file.

Alright, I went ahead and used the same files from the tutorial except I placed the buttons inside of a Movie Clip. That’s the exact same way I have my other file/'s set up.

I’ve included the .swf’s also so that you won’t have to go and create every individual .swf.

try putting _root in front of all container references.

When I added _root. to it I didn’t add it to all of my container’s.
I knew it would be something this simple.
