How can I make the background of my logo transparent so that when I import it into Flash the Flash file’s background colour shows through?

transparency on the object or its background?, when you export ai to swf it should retain its transparency on the object, depending on how you export it, it will be grouped with its transparencies in flash and not include the background as the background is not actually a object.
