Hey…just out of curiosity does anyone have any tricks of the trade they can share? Lets try and make a good long post of things that you’ve noticed about flash that others may not. You know, some of the things that not everyone knows, but should…share some of the secrets with the newer flash users…
I’ll start…
Did you know…
-copying(ctrl+shift+C) and pasting from photoshop to flash creates smaller swf’s. importing jpgs doesn’t
-png’s are a big NO NO…copy and paste a cut out path from photoshop or illustrator to create the same type of effect in flash using a mask creates swf’s a fraction of the size of one with a png
-reusing any movieclps you can possibly reuse drastically shrinks file sizes. even if you use filters.
clearly im a designer…not a coder, but these little tricks have helped me in the past, especially with size critical files(i.e. banners).
