Trouble with webserver

Hey man i am having alot of trouble with getting a webserver up and running on my computer. I know that I have a few but dont know how to get them to work where people can access pages straight from my computer.Also i purchased a domain name but don’t know how to make it as when a person types in my domain name the pages are retrieved from my computer. If you can help me in any way please do . thanks
