Tutorial: Preloader and Transition for Dynamic Files

Hey Guys, I was working on the Tutorial Preloader and Transition for Dynamic Files , and I got the tutorial to work, but I was trying to apply it with a site I’m working on, it won’t work. Any Idea? I have attached the .fla I was working on

You didnt have any code applied to the actual preloader from what i saw.

Use this modified version of your .fla and it will work.

hey Seretha Blaze thank, but it’s still not working. When I click on the buttons, they are not working.

You forgot to name the 'transition’and ‘content’ mc, give them transition and content as instance name

Thanks. I added the names and still not working.
I have added the name and uploaded the file.

yes, i also added the names and see that it’s not working.
I’m also working on this tutorail and i’m new to actionscript so i think i can’t help further but i’ll try !

Well, you forgot to give instance names to your “content” and “transition” movie clips, as someone said before. I fixed that and it worked for me. :-\

Well, worked here. But the transition mc is not placed where i think you want it.

where was i supposed to place it? I’m getting confused, but having fun at the same time

Welll, i placed the transition mc in the middle of the masked area. You have it placed on the upper left corner of the masked area.

Did you give instance names to your buttons?

you should post the most current file you are working on, or maybe start over on the last file that was provided. sometimes it something small like a semicolon, or just a fluke that will throw the whole file off.

The buttons works for me. One thing i noticed: the links button have 2 onRelease events assigned to it.

Thanks claudio… i fixed that part, but when i click on HOME, for some reason it does not work. I think I should start over and see how it’s gone come out, or is there an easy way to fix this. even the pre-loading… thing is some kind of line.
