Tutorial: Text In Flash: Make it Legible!

i have a question regarding “text in flash: make it legible!” tutorial.

since we’re making the text dynamic, in order for it to be legible and crisp, the kerning feature in flash becomes disabled. thereby, the text becomes illegible, unless we use fonts like courier, verdana, etc.

does anyone know of a way to kern the words when using dyanmic text? or is there an alternative?

what does kern do?

kerning controls the space between individual letters within a word. aka letter spacing

for example:

f i r e :fire has wide letter spacing.
fire :fire has tight letter spacing

I use Pixel Fonts,but they must be sized in groups of 8.[list=1]
[]8
[]16
[]24
[]32
[]40
[]etc.
[/list=1]
Also the info tab x & y fields must be in whole numbers.[list=1]
[]x=32.0 not 32.3
[]y = 66.0 not 66.9
[/list=1]
I do the same for the w and H. I use this formula for all my Flash needs,it seems to work for me.
