I am using flash to create an “stand-alone” announcement system on our lobby TV. Each slide has its own colors and announcement, and each slide is a scene in a Flash movie (an executable with no mouse interactivity). I use a substring routine to simulate a typewriter on one part of the message (to make the text somewhat animated). Recently someone commented that it needs to stop animating for a few seconds at the end (for slow readers I guess). So I found a timer routine that worked and applied it to the first slide with great success. When I applied it to the second scene, it went crazy and would not work at all. This is not what I do everyday, and I need help on this project. Thanks, Martie
