Updating the content

For a full flash website, how would u guys build it in terms of the content?
ie… just type the content directly in flash or link it to find a .txt file or xml?

i am a beginner in flash and wish to know what is the best way for me to build my first flash site so that is easy for me to update the content in the future…

depends on how you’re doing it, I guess in an ideal situation you’d be able to easily read and rss feed for the news, and link to it from an xml file that has the rest of the content, actually that wouldn’t be that good, but, it really depends on what you need

yeah, bombingpixels is right, it depends on what you need. since you’re a beginner in flash its probably easiest to just call upon .txt files using dynamic text boxes. theres several tutorials about it right here on kirupa (because knowledge is power!)

On a sidenote, I have a question that maybe somebody can answer. I build sites regularly and am wary of using Flash navigation because I’m afraid web crawlers won’t be able to navigate and index the site. Is this the case? or is this only true with all flash sites? I noticed the kirupa nav bar is flash, but the site also has html links to all the main sections of the site on the main page, not to mention 10 bazillion posts on the forums, and backlinks, and… I wish I had that much web traffic. Sorry, 3:45am rambling…
