Hey guys! I’m making a flash website for myself which I have to turn in within the next couple of days for my web class. I’ve been doing flash for a while mostly for animation and some real basic action scripting. Here is a link of what I’m trying to do.

Basically I did the infinite menu thing, and within the movie for the infinte menu I have my buttons which are the moving frames with differnt pictures. The only trouble Im having right now is to get those frames which were already made into buttons to go a specific “frame” within my flash movie. So when you’d click one of hte pictures it would go to portfolio, bio etc… I did the action script of “go to”, than tell it to go to a specific frame in the movie which I had previously labeled like “bio” or portfolio". Somehow this stuff is just not flying for me.

Please help me out.
my aim is cogentmusic if you have any quick inputs to chime in. Thanks for everything.

I deleted your crossposts, don’t worry about it, but avoid crossposting in the future. I or another mod would delete them anyway :wink:

No worries. :slight_smile: If you spend any time on the forums you’ll find that some of us are here a LOT :sure: so we tend to see the new posts pretty quick. Therefore there is no need to post duplicates - most folk browse ALL the forums so anyone who can answer your question will, regardless of what forum its in.

try right click save as so it doesnt just show yo all the random code.

Also I don’t know if you guys plan on sending it back to me or if you are posting only solutions If you are planning to send it back, the only two buttons that need to be what they are for now are the eye and the face. The eye is for the portfolio frame, and the face is for the bio. Thanks guys i really apreciate your input and help.

The problem was that to command the scene 1 part from abutton that was inside a movie i had to insert the " _root." before the whole gotoandstop part. I also had to remove “scene 1” part out of it because it wasnt; working with that. CHEERS!

I wish someone would’ve told you to use _root. :sigh:

the site is up. It should load fairly quick depending on connection speeds. If you hang in there long enough there is a cool song that will load in the back.
