Using Components to Create a Form?

Hi,

I’m kind of new at this! I took the above tutorial and it all works fine in the “test movie” except the email part. I have found that I need a “CGI Script”.

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a CGI Script that would work with this tutorial. I don’t know anything about CGI Scripting. I have seen CGI Scripts before, but, I don’t know how to change them to work with this tutorial form in Flash.

Here is a tutorial that will help you. It uses php, not cgi, but PHP is much more developed and powerful.

Hi and thanks for responding so quickly!

I can’t use PHP it’s not supported on my clients server. They only have CGI.

I have seen CGI Scripts but I’m not sure how to change them to add the check boxes and comments field to it so it all can be sent in the email.

u sure ur server allows cgi and not php?

Yes, I just got off the phone with Tech Support. It turns out the it’s an NT Server and they support ASP. I was thinking of giving that a try.

I have to double check the form because I can’t get functions to work (e.g., “clear form” and “send mail”). When I do in “Test Movie” nothing seems to work. So I uploaded it and it still didn’t work. I must of done something wrong.

How depressing!!
