Since I am a known hater of the plague called micro tiny pixelfonts, using them is no option
So normal font aye, but often you see they tend to get blurry.
Apart from aligning the textsymbol to whole positions (so x=0 y=0) are there other tips to get font as crisp as possible?
For example, I noticed that the text frame is hardly ever a whole number of height. If you have a 16 points font, you always get a frame around it with a height of for example 18.3 or so. Altering the frame height also resizes the font, so that isn’t right.
I don’t know if this would help or not, but depending on the font you’re using, some fonts work well when the font size is set to even numbers instead of odd numbers. For example a size of 8, 10, 12, and so on would work well. I hope that helps a bit. =)
Also the reverse, some fonts seem to work better at an odd value. Guess it depends on the font you’re using really. I think Arial is better on odd values…
The other way to get a crisper font is to use the dynamic text option. That will make the text look more like HTML. There’s a tutorial on it here : http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/usingtext.htm
