Using Projector files

Hi,

Having trouble understanding how the Projector works.

I need to burn some reports I made in Flash MX on a cd-rom. I want to ensure that even computers that don´t have the Flash 6 Player installed can view the reports. The reports consist of a swf file that loads various other swf files. So when I create the projector on my computer (which of course has the flash player 6 installed) the .exe file doesn´t show anything. When I delete it, I can no longer open any of my .swf files! It gives an error message saying that it can´t find the projector. After restoring it, the .swf files open.

What happened? Now all of the .swf files on my computer, even those that had nothing to do with the original .swf that I used to make the projector don´t work unless it is present.

Can anybody explain to me what is happening?

I see to be making some progress…

When I make the projector, the main swf file is now visible, but on MY MACHINE, the other swfs do not load. I tested it on a machine that has Flash 5 installed and they do appear. Does this mean that my projector will NOT work for machines with Flash MX installed??
