It looks great.
Although, and I have no clue how these images are done, so correct me if Im wrong, I think that the ear and the hair still looks like the real photo you are making the vector image from. Make it more 2D.

It was made with illustrator with just vectors. It’s for the DG magazine competition and my teacher is making us enter it.

Pretty awesome man! Though, that purple for the cover design is killing me! Are you sure about that color? And the type and general attitude kind of messes with the wonderful simplicity of the original (red) image. I would contrast the “shocked” expression of the figure with a subtle, composed type instead of some kind of “b horror movie” knockoff

But can you add more contrast to the image a bit more… so the shading makes it more realistic ??
