can I upgrade/install the user’s version of the flash player with as? or does the user have to go to macromedia’s site and dl it?

I doubt you could update it directly through flash. It seems like that would be a huge security issue.
I agree, I think the only way to do it is to download the installer from macromedia’s site. If your project is on a cd, you could place the installer on the cd and call/run that possibly via a flash projector.
well, i guess that there is an javascript you have to insert on html to update the flash player version, but i’m not sure about that…
