Vertical Flash + XML image gallery

It’s my first post at kirupa

I’ve been reading the forums for the image gallery
But my problem is that I’ve to create a image gallery with following features :

  1. Vertical thumbnail list
  2. I should know which image i’ve selected
  3. It should have loading for both thumbnails & the main images

I too need help (also new to this Forum) with something that I’m trying to do for a friend of my husband. Do you think you can help? Here is my problem:
If you go to http://www.katsulis.com/storyboards.html (this is in progress state) you will see several small pictures that are buttons. Here is what I want to do: when you press one of the pictures(a button), a movie clip will glide in from the bottom or the side (over the images on the stage) where you will see a large image, 3 buttons underneath the picture(1st button is the back button, 2nd button is the forward button, 3rd button is the close button). This is all coming in over the pictures. So, when the picture is there you will have a choice to go to the next large version picture in the row or to the previous large version picture in the row, or, you can close the image all together and it will slide back down and out of sight. I am having problem writing the code for all this and wondered if you or someone could guide me. I would also like to call in the larger picture using xml (I’d probably need help with that too). Maybe someone have seen this somewhere and can direct me where to go to find the actionscript for this? I would appreciate any help I can get.
