Weird Component Problem

I’ve never come across this problem before so I’m wondering if anyone has seen it and knows what the problem is.

My Problem

I’m loading in a swf into an empty placeHolder, the swf contains a ComboBox Component. When it’s loaded into the placeHolder it doesn’t drop down or do anything. If I load it into the main timeline, it works.

Does anyone know why the ComboBox Component works on the main timeline but not inside an MC?

Ok, further to that component in an extMC.swf
I load the external swf into my main timeline behind a mask, so when i publish it, I CANT SEE THE TEXT :frowning: i thought of embedding the font, but i cant find how to do this with 2004 components, ie the comboBox in question.

  • anyone have a tutorial or example of an email form to php using MX 2004 components?

We were refering to COMPONENTS, specifically the comboBox, not text fields !

ummm, ok. Use styles. The combo box uses a combination of styles from other UI components: the button uses Button styles, the text uses TextInput styles, and the drop-down list uses List styles. The complete list of styles available to each component are listed in the Flash MX 2004 manual. happy hunting :thumb:
