Welcome and ... how is "blurring pics effect" done?

Hi everybody!
I am bayek, a new flash addict - and a new member of the forum. I have been watching the Kirupa site for some time now (getting more and more enchanted by the FlashFairy) and really am happy to be here! Good people - I hope you will find some time to help me in future as well with some dumb questions that will surely be coming from my new and yet blank action script book.

First question is: you surely know the effect that can also be found at http://www.kill-bill.com/flash/index.html - I mean the MC that makes this blurring pics effect (Vernita). I am working on my first flash site and would love to do that - is there any tutorial on this? Is it playing with transitions?

Thank you for hints:)
regards
bayek

BTW - I can prepare source pics in Photoshop, and did most of the tuts on the Kirupa site so I am fairly familiar with Flash basics.

thanks again (whoever it may concern;-)
bayek

You mean that text that blurs in ?

I mean the pictures, like there are two pics eg. original and blurred (or grey), one over another, and they sort of move nicely (alpha?)

hmm, it think my english does not allow me now to put it clearer;-)

Oh I see, you mean that whiteness it fades from ? That’s probably just a brightness tween, not that hard to create. You place the image in a movieclip, then you tween that movieclip’s brightness using motion tweens

No he means the yellow text on the vernita page. The blur effect and then the text itself. I think it is a photoshop image, saved in .png format on a transparent background. Just Make some text, then save it as a .png (on a transparent background), then motion blur the text and save that image as a .png and import those 2 images to flash and do some tweening.

Thanks guys for your help, I will work on that;-)
