I have this project about cloning, I want as many people to reply so I know what you mean of cloning. cloning a humen or animal.
What dos people think of cloning?
What is cloning?
Is it safe?
What do you think?
…
Thank you.

I don’t understand how cloning can be considered all the different from standard reproduction.
If you think about it it’s still one cell developing into a baby. The process by which this one cell is formed is a bit difference but once it is formed it’s exactly the same.
Everybody seems to be concerned about clone’s that are exactly the same. Like a group of clones will walk around and talk exactly at the same time, then whip out their death rays and kill us all.
A clone would experience the world in a completely different way than the person it was cloned from. This would make the clone a competely different person than the person that it was copied from.
What dos people think of cloning?
I think used in the right way it can be a good thing.
I wouldn’t have a problem if Einstein was cloned. Given that his brain was 13% larger in the math’s area, he would be of great use to science. Just clone a army of him and we will be years ahead in no time.
I would like to see a dinosaur, cloning would be the only way that will ever happen.
If you wanted children, I see no reason why you couldn’t have a clone of yourself and wife, if you were so inclined.
What is cloning?
Making an exact genetic replica of a living organism.
Is it safe?
Not at the moment, everything cloned has medical problems and dies premature.
What do you think?
I think that cloning is a natural step in our evolution, just another run on the ladder.
Our ultimate goal is to be able to create human from scratch, one of the first steps to that is making a copy if what you have.
For the human race to continue, it must be done… why ?
Natural selection no longer applies to humans, this is the process to insure that we continue to improve and do not let defects and weakness crawl into our genetic make up.
Thanks to science people these days, people that would have otherwise died live a happy normal life. However they pass on their genetic defects.
People who have something to offer to our genetic make up, like intelligence, may only have 1 or 2 kids. People who are lacking in the IQ department quite often have 4-6 children.
Based on these simple facts, the human race is becoming sicker and more stupid with every generation.
Add to this the size of our population, and this is it people, we are at the height of our natural evolution.
We are going down…… down down down…… We will just keep getting sicker and more stupid….
Even if a human was born tomorrow, with an IQ 0f 600 and the body of Arnold, because of the size of the human race, his gentics would never filter through.
The only way that can maintain or improve our genetics, is if we do it ourselves with genetic manipulation and designer babes.
This brings me to my Favorite movie of all time GATTACA.
This is where the human race is headed, it’s either here or back to the jungles people!
Well the thing is though, you can’t recreate the environment an indivdual grew up in with cloning. Yes - you could create 600 Einstein’s, but the chances of him either becoming a genius or spending his time posting in these forums (hey - it could happen!) or playing video games 24/7 are all equally likely. More than likely, he’ll end up joining a boy band and outsmarting everyone in the industry.
Now dinosaurs, sabre toothed tigers, dodo, etc. would be cool to clone…difficult (hard to find a female dinosaur), but maybe doable in the future
Well if they did clone Einstein’s, I am sure they would keep him locked up, but treat him like a king, and give him the best education that money can buy.
Remember he came from nothing, if he came from a weathy family and started younger, he may have been x10 the man he was.
But still though - the chances of Einstein not making his great achievements during this time are also likely. In today’s world, who knows - he could join some boy band or something
Just because you provide a better environment does not necessarily mean that he will make better achievements. The exact opposite could hold true
Yep, thats the thing about cloning, it wont make the same person twice.
Sure, it will look like Einstein, but wont act like him. He could become a plumber or start his boyband like kirupa said. Thats the thing about it, Einstein has the same brain as everyone else, its how it was developed and his rational skills. Rember, even though Einstein was a great intellect, he couldn’t even drive!
I thought he donated his brain to science.
I thought I read the math portion of his brain was 13% larger than the average man, hence his ability to comprehend such abstract mathematical concepts.
If I locked you up in a room, and you only ever saw humans acting like chickens, you would act like a chicken.
Admittedly a clone would not be him, but if his brain did have that advantage I am sure under the right nurturing a clone would be happy to continue his work.
No one care to comment on this statment.

I’ve never seen the movie, so I don’t really know why or when they said that
About Einstein though, I would much rather clone people, who in my mind, made equally great if not greater breakthroughs: Newton, Gauss, Euler, and Riemann.
If the three of them could make their excellent theories in the 1600s-1800s without the use of typewriters, telephones, tv’s, adequate healthcare, etc., imagine what they could do today.
Of course, that’s hypothetical - for the above three could also join Einstein’s boy band. Newton may go solo later as an R&B or Hip Hop artist hehe.
:ub:
LMAO
Personally I like Pythagoras….
Anyone who can calculate the distance to the moon with a stick is A OK in my book.
EDIT: oops, I think it may have been the sun ! Doh

**thanks phil,
i really enjoyed learning about this stuff…it’s so interesting.

i don’t know if you thought of it or not, but preserving your telomeres could be the equivalent to the fountain of youth…if you could somehow trigger your body to make the telomerase enzyme that preserves your telomeres, you would presumably quit aging (of course there may be other complications, but it’s still cool to think about).
i’ve also wondered about the giant sea turtles that essentially show no signs of aging…i’m not sure if there telomeres are somehow being preserved or if they just have a very, very low metabolic rate and are actually aging incredibly slow.

When I read that, I was thinking the same exact thing, idea stealer
lol
ha ha ha… **TecFreak **
I just saw your “Bill Gates is Evil” & “Microsft is Evil”
Well if I wasn’t so tired I would correct you.
But for now, Mr Gates is King of the world, not you…
