I recently applied for a job posted on the jobs board asking for flash developers for a range of projects ,only to find out he wanted an exact clone of another flash site. This is something I could have done in under a minute.
As artists, designers and developers we are all influenced by what we interact with and see around us, but to clone is just blantantly stealing someone elses work. No creative input, no techincal input, just a quick lift with some software.
What he was asking me to do, seemed fro me at least, was to pimp my art and my passion for a quick buck… I didnt take his money.
I now wonder how wide spread this is? Is it very common for people to clone other peoples work?
… and those of you who do, ever wondered what that makes you?
