Love is the ability and willingness to allow the other person to be, say and do whatever they wish to.
By that definition, if you love me, you’re my doormat. Do my parents not love me if they prevent me from having a rave on Christmas Eve in their living room? (or something else that is stupid or inconsiderate.)
