clients want cool looking buttons
i was thinking of making them switches (up and down) i dont really know how to do them anyone know where the tutorials for them are? i dont even know what they are called i guess flip switches??
here is an update of the design. Still no cool buttons or navigation i can think i am really really stumped!! The client is a dj so he wants something dj’ey. I cant really come up with something the color scheme for the navigation could be whatever i just need some input or something ive looked at all my magazines sites pictures everythign and nothing comes to mind.
You could maybe have some of the buttons mimic those of controls of a cd player, like play, stop, pause etc… Also do a search for dj mixers and take a look at some of the controls on them. Faders or toggle switches might be cool. Maybe even the little round knobs found on mixers and sound boards. Just create them as movie clips and use on(release) to switch to the different states of the button. Does that help at all? Let me know if there’s anything I can help u with.

i think flip switches would suit the graphic. Whatever button you do use though i’d suggest that you give it an unfinished or kind of scratched look. If you make the buttons to clean then they won’t suit the layout. Do you get me?

These guys have software that mimics synthesizers, drum machines, and stuff like that. Look at screen shots for their products and I know you’ll see something you like! The stuff is cool to play with too.
i was thinking of a cd player also… should i put it in the middle? thats the only place i think it would look good.
Do you plan on including anything else in that area as far as graphics or info? It might look a little strange sitting there alone. Maybe you could have navigation in the form of some dj like buttons on the top or bottom, and then take up the other space with controls to play with streaming audio which would of course be some of this dj’s music. Just have simple effects like fading, volume, and a little menu box with a couple audio samples to select from. Maybe I’m thinking too far ahead but that would be cool and users would be interacting with the site(always a good thing).
