Which extension is right? HTM or HTML?

I am new in web developer… While designing a web site we can either use HTM or HTML, but which is more appropriate? and why?Considering future versions of HTML or other scripting, programming languages, which extension of HTM or HTML is valid to use?

Thanks

Both are valid. Technically, html is more correct, since it is an HTML document, but htm works all the same. HTM just adheres to the 3 character extension format, which really doesn’t matter in these modern times that we live in.

IMO, you might as not well not serve either extension. I’d rather see http://example.com/cool-article-title than http://example.com/coolarticle-title.html

Browsers care more about [w]MIME[/w] types than the ends of URLs which look like file extensions, but aren’t.

Both of them are correct. HTM is just for 3 characters extension format…

Oh really? :runner:

You’re special. :snowflake: Also, I didn’t actually write the second post myself; it’s autogenerated when you close a thread. (I could have saved myself some time if I had known that would happen. :frowning: )
