I think Jsp is easy
php was easier for me to learn, personally
Well as far as I know it all depends on what you are doing.
XML and PHP I know for a fact are completely different. Even if you meant XHTML, they are still entirely different being that PHP is server-side and XML and XHTML are client-side.
Not exactly sure how JSP and Coldfusion work so I won’t offer advice on those.
So if you are looking for Server-Side then I would say go with PHP or ASP (I personally prefer PHP, but it varies from person to person).
I prefer PHP too. I don’t really like Javascript, there are always errors there (or maybe thats me :P) but anyway, PHP is way better to me.
vj: JSP is not the samething as Javascript (just fyi)
I haven’t yet had to use JSP for anything and my host does not support Coldfusion or I would dip my toes into that as well.
I personally prefer PHP
Woops, read that wrong (-: Then what is JSP ?
JSP = Java Server Pages (I think)
yup, JSP is javaserver pages, and im assuming it uses SSJS (server-side javascript)…
I would go for php. A friend of mine codes with both ColdFusion and PHP, and he’s told me that ColdFusion lacks some functionality like image manipulation and such. PHP is open-source, easy to learn, and very reliable.
I was about to ask the same question: should I learn asp, php or jsp? Thanks for the replies! Php it is! (once I finish my AS book).
my vote is to php, but honestly ASP is much easier then all of the above
Well I don’t program in a lot of the above, but I can tell you Coldfusion is very easy to use and learn.
