Whip pan in Flash

hi guys (and girls),

i’m creating a flash animation/cartoon for a school assignment, and i wanted to have a whip pan between two of the scenes (this is the technique where the ‘camera’ quickly shifts from one shot to another, with the image blurry while it moves… it’s used quite often in TV shows, especially action ones)

anyway, i tried one of those tutorials where you blur the image and then fade it in and out using alpha, but it doesn’t look right… anyone got some tips on how to do it well? i’ve looked at the blur tutorial on this site, but it’s not really appropriate for what i’m doing

i’ll post my attempt so far a bit later

thanks for any help
Stuart

don’t worry actually, i’ve worked out a way to get a satisfactory shot

i just created the whole scene at once (most of it not in frame) and then blurred the whole image, instead of trying to get 2 different blurred images and overlap them, which is actually pretty stupid in hindsight. Then i used the alpha trick to make it zoom in and out…

thanks anyway :cowboy:

now, if only i was good at drawing!

Stuart
