Winamp3 Skin

Well I was thinking the other day as I browsed the many features of the MMD3 winamp3 skin, that I would really like to be able to make something like it. Winamp 3 skins are so much more complicated than winamp 2 skins, but much more useful and customizable. One can show off much style while incorporating the buttons and funtionality into the piece.

What I am interested in is making a skin in collaboration with one or two other people. Since I lack skill in XML and some of the other things needed, I would offer my handy photoshop and cinema 4d skills.

So basically I am looking for a partner to create a skin for winamp 3. I don’t have any idea what it would look like, we can brainstorm and others can voice their opinions too. But this is a fun, leisurely project so it would not be a payed position.

Also I have school work as many of you probably do, so this is not a one week thing, maybe more like 2 weeks or a month. As I said, a very leisurely project, but fun.

If anyone is interested please post here and/or contact me via email or AIM.

I tried to do some the month after winamp 3 came out but I discovered a) that you had to know about xml to do it and you had to program some of the things in the skin to make it special
b) that winamp3 was a very sucky program that ate up all your RAM and didn’t have the functionnality of winamp2. So I came back to winamp 2.

Winamp 2 skins are quite easy to do. We should have a winamp2 battle… give it more than a month…

Long Live Winamp2! :thumb:

Alright, maybe a kirupian winamp2 skin?

I have to go to school but I’ll check in durning 6th period.

Peace

that wouldn’t be hard to do - it’s mostly a pixel job, plus a bunch of animated cursors…

which brings me back to winamp 3 and the reason i was so interested in it in the first place. there are animations on almost anything you can think of. and the final product looks so cool and i so functional.

well maybe we could try winamp3 and if that fails, we could go for winamp2.
