Wondering how to make this effect

On the site at www.subdisc.com , there is a really cool graphic effect when you change sections. The image in the window does this line by line formation that i actually had the idea of several weeks ago, but i had no idea how to do it as i’m not so good at doing my own action script. It’s obviously a vector image, and i doubt this could be done with bitmap ones-- but does anyone have an idea as to how to accomplish that effect?

By the way i know i am a newbie on here-- but i have been watching these boards and using this site for about a month now and it’s been a tremendous help. I’m a graphic designer, not a programmer though-- even though i know a bit of Java, this coding can give me headaches.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Try simply clicking on information, and enter your message asking if subdisc would mind giving you the source or just how they did it.

Well i guess i could do that, but i figured this is a place where people share ideas about this stuff, i wanted to keep from bothering them.

Ok I emailed the guy and he responded. All he said was that he used keyframes, and stretched the image frame by frame. So there’s no actionscipt involved at all. I guess that means that it’s more skill than anything as far as putting it together, and patience. Anyway i guess that answers my question.

i would make a moation tween of the background color moving up the screen. but carefully mask around the content of the pic…

PS: “it has recently been brought to my attention that I suck at after effects. dose anyone know of some good STEP TUTORIALS?<by that I mean something like flash planet, how it started easy then got harder>”

thanx…

actually, its about 120 frames of pixel streching. search google and you will find your answer
