I don’t intend to win the ‘Site of the week’ award here as I have seen some truly unique and nice designs. However, I will submit my site anyway. Take a look, and feel free to give me some feedback.
Please take note that I am only 14 years of age and this site is one of my first attempts at flash and photoshop, so please don’t be too harsh on me! :sigh:
wow, I entered for SOTW too and it looks like I won’t be winning now since your site is way nicer. I really like your site, very clean and well layed out. Good job, I don’t mind losing to you, you deserve it. =)
Yeah I have The cranberries on there, entitled ‘Dreams’. I’ll be releasing a more extensive player tofday or tomorrow, which will scroll the songs playing with the artist and name, and cooler buttons. Glad you liked my site, and you can vote for it for SOTW in awhile.=)
Are you really 14? I don’t think I believe that!! Well whatever you say, you work is really nice and I like your style, i still don’t believe it though but anyway I am amazed no matter what age you are, awesome :beam:
You know, you youngsters are really making me feel old! At 14 I’d just started learning RM Basic, never mind producing Flash sites!
Anyway, well done on a very nice site. It’s clean and easy to work through which are my two main points to look for. And as another bonus, there’s no pop up windows involved which is good.
I’ve seen a lot of sites submitted recently that use a grey-ish colour scheme and a lot of the time they can loko a bit washed out. I think you’ve got round this by using some bright, colourful pictures, which break up the plainess of the grey.
Hey Kit, it makes me feel old too. When I was 14, I didn’t even own a computer or know a ■■■■ thing about one. I didn’t even know how to type, or anything like that. In just a few short years I learned how to build my own from scratch, and I learned many web design languages, but I am rushing to try and catch up with people who are younger than me!..lol.
acedog - Yeah, I also live in Toronto. When my first version of my site was complete, I posted on flashkit asking for feedback. I got some really positive responses, so I tried posting on other forums. I ended up posting on about 5 or so, and people starting coming to me then. The volume has been increasing ever since.
To answer your question, no, I don’t really have any special contacts. No one in Toronto helps me out with advertising, just me and forums
