Well hello everyone!
I’m a complete newbie on this site/forum, but I really like what I have seen so far.
I’m designing a new website for a printing company. It’s not finished yet, but since I have to wait for input from the client to continue, I wanted to make the wait worth my time and see if there are some comments out there so far. It’s better fixing things while you’re still working on it, than when the site is labeled ‘finished’ :).
Don’t click on “English” yet, nothing will happen :).
There’s no change of content yet, I still have to receive it… Lorem Ipsum all the way!

Some tech specs: full Flash 8 site, with my first attempt at SWFObject / SWFAddress / SEO-optimisation (XML/XSLT). I have no idea if it all works as planned, that’s why I’m here :).
I actually like the site, some things that I saw that could be fixed:
Active page underlining: It looks like you put a HTML link on a flash-site, which is kind of “ugly” I am pretty sure you can find something more appealing there
The map is a little confusing, I like the Idea, but I would be glad to have some controls or feedback of how much I zoomed in.
I would give the customer a chance to contact them with a contact-form, not only the emailadress.
(Maybe you’re planning that on the lorem ipsum side…but still)
other then that: I like the transitions, colors, fotos.
Holy crap, that’s a monster URL. The site is nice, but I didn’t feel like I could get a good feel for whether or not the content is being properly presented since I can’t read Dutch. I like that it has deeplinking, I like the feel of it, it’s good stuff. The nav could use a tiny bit more visual interest in my opinion, but overall it’s fairly solid. :thumb:
i think it’s a pretty good start. i agree that the underlined HTML style links are U G L Y! the whole point of using flash is to get AWAY from all those inundated HTML styles! it’s FLASH, make them glow, or fade to another color, anything besides underlining!
also, the pixel font you’re using for all of the content isn’t working with the font you’re using for the headlines and nav. i think you’d be better suited using a serif font similar but not the same as the headlines. also, there’s no need to Right Justify your body text. the eye is being pulled into the center by your design already, Left justify that text and give the eye a new line to concentrate on so that they are pulled into the text. also, your content text box should allow the text to be as wide as the header. try a larger font for content and i think you’ll find that it fills out the body of your site better and makes the whole thing look richer.
another thing to try with your content is using a few small images to break up the text. i know that you’ve designed the site so the graphics are on the right and content is on the left, but layering a few smaller graphics within your content might be cool.
it might be cool if there were some subtle animations going on in the images on the right side. for instance, on the 1st page theres an images of a desk with some orange paper flying onto it. that wouldn’t be hard to edit and animate: maybe the paper floats down to the desk…
I like it. I happen to know some Dutch and I hope the text on the left is going to change for each menu item. Does it?
Did you use a framework (like GAIA or CASA).
