Hey, I’m getting ready to do a big redesign of an intense and very dynamic ‘e-commerce’ type site. When redesigning it, I’d like to implement a dynamic XML menu system. I know Senocular made one and it is posted on his site but it is sorta ghetto ridge at the bottom of it. There is a graphic that hides the bottom of the menu but if you add more items then is there it will show below the menu. You can’t tell from the SWF but if you look @ the FLA you can tell. Here is the link to it, http://www.umbc.edu/interactive/fla/view.php?f=XMLMenu_MX&t=zip&s=150x200. Does anybody have any other scripts that I can look @ that are like this. I will not copy it, but remake it, I just want to look @ some source to see how I can approach passing XML to Flash and manipulating it once in Flash. Thank you guys for your help.
Oh yea,
I also wanted to say that Senocular ‘YOU ARE THE FREAKING MAN!!!’.
I hope that one day I will present a question to you that will entail a detail and amazing response.
Well I don’t have another menu, but you stated you wanted to learn about XML and XML in Flash…
Kirupa has a few tutorials, that is where I learned it…
Thank you much, anybody else?
anybody?
bump.
This one looks promising, has an .fla included as well.
Hmm, this one looks pretty good too.
Digital Pimp…As you are a Javascript guru plus we share the same B’day…can you tell me.
Is it possible to create and write a file on a local machine using Javascript, if so you have a code example ?
I would assume that data can be passed from Flash to Javascript using ?
getURL(“JavaScript:functionname();”);
