2A sets up their animations to play in sequences so that only a set of animations play at any given time, once one set is done, another one starts. This method allows animations to run smoother since they’re not running all at once.
Well you don’t necessarily need swif 3d, you can use flash alone, but it does require a lot of experimenting and planning to put something together like what 2A did.

Digital: Not exactly true. Sometimes tweens are better than actionscripted tweening. In the case of 2A animations, tweens are the route to go, more effective, easier, and much more versatile.
And in the end, all it comes down to is practice, experience ,and experimentation. Flash is something you have to work at, not just something you can install and magically be great.
