Here comes a 3 questions about Flash in general

I’m gonna make a flash animation for a site, and wonder what size would be optional. Shall I expect that users have higher res then 800X600 (like 1024x768) and if so, any good tips on how to calculate the “active space” i can use (since if they have 1024x768 a flash movie that big will fill up the whole screen).

Is it safe to save you’r flash in the latestversion (9) or shall I save it in 8 or even 7 so thoose people who haven’t updated can see it as well?

Browsed some news site that use flash banners with my ipodtouch, since flash isn’t supported all I saw was pictures that looked like the flash ad I’am supposte to see.Do any of you have a link for a tutorial on how to give the option to show a pic for thoose who havent flash installed?
