ok i am taking a tut right? and this si one of the steps,

–
Create an omni light at the lower left corner of the Top viewport. Move the light upward in the Left viewport until it is nearly level with the spotlight. Change the V value to 110

i cant find the V anywhere? can someone help?

that is from that ice cube tut huh?? I never understood that either but let me say this. You dont really need whatever v is the only thing I would think they are talking of is the attenuation. But I would only set my far attenuation that high. go figure, maybe they are using like max 3. I check 4, 4.2 and 5 not “v”

I use max 3 and that doesn’t mean much to me either? Especially with a value of 110… I’d second the attenuation guess, its the only thing I can think of that fits that kind of value.

ok i think i changed something else but if its not that important i think i will just leave as is. otherwise this is a really great tut! i am going to e-mail them asking to change it, or at least explain it.

it may be the Z position value! But I’m not sure! Try if the value 110 is something “level to the spotlight”! I doubt it :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah cause they said the same for the omi and spot light so it hast to be something. i donno but i am not going ot worry about it!

3d when i finally become unlazy enough to open up max lol i will try to fix whatever didnt seem to go right…

speakin’ of lazy I haven’t opened up flash nor 3ds max for many weeks! The thing that has been on my mind lately is just to PLAY SOMETHING! I downloaded the vitcong mp demo and now all I do is play that! I can’t even tell if I like the game anymore! I’m like a slave! Every time I try to open up flash or 3ds max I get a bad feeling like it’s gonna crash and I have to reinstall every thing or sth!
ok gonna go play sth now…
