I’d rather deal with trying to find out the differences between generations of iPhone, than figure out what the crap Nokia is doing with their N70, NItu409, N8435, N4835uy405q model crap.
honestly, they’ve pumped out so many phones, its doing them more harm than good
Its a shame…but when you think about it, that’s what all “real” big companies do. Microsoft has several “flavors” of Vista/XP, Asus is pumping out new series lines every freaking day (to the disappointment of me), companies like Dell, HP, Toshiba, etc all have TONS of odd looking model names and numbers, etc.
And your right, to the educated consumer like us, I think it deters us. For example, that’s why many of us hate consumer companies like Dell or HP, its because they concentrate their efforts on selling to the average folk while we know those odd model numbers only hide “consumer” build quality and average specs. Another reason why Apple has to stay boutique or at least act the part.
The iphone has a glass front (ie: scratch resistant)
Can’t say the same about the back though…
but it looks like they’re using a higher quality plastic than the type they’ve used in macbooks and ipods of yore
The front screen is indestructible trust me i’ve hit it a bunch (by accident). The back sratches very easily… but thats the same with all ipods. BTW, screen protector useless. I have keymarks that cut the screen protector and go to the glass no sign of damage on the glass.
Meh finger prints are not that visible while its on.
the back on your touch ain’t got no correlation to el iphono 3h
scratches are bound to happen no matter what device you own, but since its an ipod touch/iphone (aka gosh darn expensive), scratches hit a little closer to home, me thinks

I ahve the invisible shield and an incase case this is the best combination you can have for your iphone I dropped my and it rolled down the stairs picked it up it was as good as new totally worth it.
ohhhhh i see now, but its still “two parts”
I would have to see it in real life, :fab:
Trust me I have it and its a pain to get the iphone in it its pretty difficult to get it out as well its really tight and its hard plastic its the best protector I’ve seen for the iphone so far like I said I highly recommend it
It seems that here in Spain the iPhone 3G will be commercialized only by one company… and it will cost: 0€. The best way to hit the 3G market. IMO with these improvements this device is starting to be a very good device…
I hate att so im comfortable buying a windows mobile device and configure it into an iphone clone. My iphone has a slide out QWERTY keyboard;P. I say that to cover my depression of not owning an actual iphone…
Well that is still yet to be confirmed and if thats the case you will just have to pay the early termination fees so you really end up paying almost 600 bucks for your new iphone if its a 16 gig since you have to pay $30.00 for activation and $250 for the early termination fee.
Guess it wasn’t so bad to buy a first gen iphone at full price its still cheaper than what you have to do for a 3G one
and we probably won’t be able to now, as one of the reasons was to be able to use it in countries other than the US, and now that it will be widely available, that kind of defeats the purpose.
And if you do unlock it, you’re still going to have to buy a plan and a data plan which will inevitably end up costing the same as the AT&T plan, if not close, so… you’re kind of better off buying a 3G iphone for half the cost, with relatively the same phone plan … then you were buying the 1st gen, for double the cost, same phone plan cost, and old technology to boot

The main purpose of unlocking your phone is for using any carrier or installing any software not offered by apple and adding abilities to the iphone apple hasn’t officially.
No you dont need an data plan if you dont plan on using it for internet its an option you dont need to you can just use it as a phone I have mine unlocked even though I’m with AT&T and their voice plans kinda suck but I needed a new phone since I couldn’t use my previous provider because it was for another country where I don’t live in any longer.
I’ll get a new iPhone when they release a 32gig one :beam: :thumb:
Gosh dang! So I booked 3 of these, seeing as Vodafone and Bharti Airtel will be “bringing” the iPhone 3G here in India, and Vodafone took a leading edge over Airtel yesterday by offering pre-registrations. The sad part is, even though it will be launched in several parts of the world on June 11, there is still no word when we’ll be able to see it here.
