The “cheap generation should retire YAGNI” line is cute, but YAGNI isn’t about typing less; it’s about not widening your attack surface for imaginary futures. Every speculative flag, config knob, and “we might need multi-tenant later” abstraction turns into another place to misconfigure auth or leak data. On the China supercomputer thing: are they publishing enough detail to sanity-check it, or is this another “trust us” benchmark story? That’s the part that gets me.
