A bit perplexed

I’m desperately trying to devise something similiar to this for a site I’m working on. I see two main elements to the movie:
1)The mouse-to-centre-of-movie-width (making it change direction)
2) The on-click that produces a seperate image with text.

 I've made the connection that the actionscript is close to what you'd find on a panorama swf, so I've tried to learn that way. However the ones I've seen so far have rather sloppy code so it's hard to make anything out.

I do NOT WANT someone to tell me how to make something like this, I just want to know if there are any tut’s that you may know of that would point me in the right direction. Flashkit’s not showing any listings (either that, or I don’t know what to call it!)

Any help would be appreciated.
