A critique to 100% flash social network

This is my reply to the thread “100% flash social network”. The post is locked and my user account was banned. First

of all i want to explain that the three users banned are different persons and you can check their accounts to see

that one of them was created in 2004, other in 2006 and one of them today.

One remark - under the same LAN different machines appear under the same IP. So it happened that near me one person

(astrocrack) with an account created in kirupa foruns in 2006 (that just like me never posted anything before)

decided to post a reply… and well… other person (dartacao) that was listening to us decided to create one

account for himself and post a reply.

So talking about Mingle now… first of all, the discussion was all centered around Mingle Stage wich is only a part

of the thing. So i’ll put some screenshots so you can notice that inside Mingle everything is very different from

Wallop and any other site i know, except for the ‘100% flash’.

In fact it was just in 26 of April 2007 that the team working on Mingle saw for the first time Wallop.

I think i can understand where you find the similarites but i can assure you that radial pie menus where not

invented by wallop designers. The current Mingle Stage theme is in fact similar with wallop personal page (you can

choose your background and you’ve info inside boxes)… but i think here we can speak more about design trends than

any other thing… of course you can always find a lot similar design elements in the hundreds of social networks

existent nowadays. Also one difference between Wallop and Mingle it is that Mingle supports skinning. You can choose

the color of the boxes and in a few days you’ll be able to choose different boxes. Also the gallery, network,

profile are components that soon the user will be able to choose.
