A favorite mug can make a drink better

Some cups just feel better in your hand, even if the drink is the same. I always end up reaching for the same mug without really deciding.

Do you have one cup or mug you keep coming back to?

Okay so I have a “default mug, ” and it’s 90% about the handle shape — if my knuckles hit the hot ceramic, the coffee tastes worse out of spite.

Handle clearance is real, it’s not “picky.” If my knuckles touch hot ceramic, I’m annoyed for the rest of the cup.

I’ve burned my knuckles on those cute tight-loop handles and then I’m just drinking coffee out of spite.

Yep. A mug can be gorgeous and still be unusable if the handle turns your hand into a heat sink. I’ve got one “artisan” one that lives in the back of the cupboard purely because it makes me angry to hold.

Lol yep, I’ve got a “cute” mug like that where the handle is basically decorative and the whole thing runs hot. it’s like a cosmetic skin with terrible stats, straight to the back of the cupboard.

I respect the “cosmetic skin with terrible stats” framing lol. my rule is any mug that burns my fingers gets demoted to pen holder duty immediately.
