I"m creating my first game which is based on the efg framework ( www.8bitrocket.com/books/the-essential-guide-to-flash-games/ ). 
I’m trying to create a simple display text thats showing up DURING gameplay (i.e. without any interruptions). But currently I don’t get it working.
My question is: Using the BasicScreen-class and setting it to transparent works, but when I try to smoothly fade-in and fade-out the text, then the whole BasicScreen will be animated (even when you’re not seeing it - just the text). But this kinda sucks because it needs cpu power. What would be the best approach for this kind of problem? Or is it better to show the gathered achievements at the end of the level?
