Okay I have this flash piece that is going to be embedded on a webpage.
The swf was at 400k…way too big! I am trying to reduce it, and have resaved (exported) most of the photos in fireworks as it seems to do a better job compressing than photoshop. Then I reimported -
I also removed some of the movie that I had origionally and am going to put that into a new file.
I went through my library and deleted all imported artwork and symbols that I was not using (though I am not sure if that affects size if they are not actually in the movie)
Well I still only got the swf down to 313k which is still big.
Its a lot of images. I dont see you getting much less in file size. More compression or sizing them to be a little smaller and stretching them out again in Flash will help, but you’re losing quality there.
yeah I figured with all the pics…especially having tweens on them.
Well I guess I will just have to submit to client and say we have to cut some pictures as the only other solution…
thanks guys!
Do you know how I would make the code work both ways…like I want to fade something in, (start from alpha 0) then once it is at 100 it will sit for a certain amount of time and then fade out again…I have got the timing at the bottom figured out (0,100,5) in lost’s code…but I don’t know what to add to get the additional fading I want…
Ok Dig - thanks for all your help!
Nasir-
I have compressed the images as much as I can while still keeping the quality I need- they were imported as jpeg’s
Thank you anyway…
Hey Digitalosophy (-:
Did you ever get a change or were you able to figure that effect out? I posted a reply in the thread you referred me to (with the code from Lost in Beta)
hoping that LIB would respond and not mind sharing the code, or at least explain the concept.
Anyway just wondering
