so I have a dynamic textbox, (yes it is set to exact pixels) I embeded the pixel fonts, right size, and the thing looks mainly ok, but some parts of the text are blurry…why?
and, when I embed the fonts, does that mean someone who is surfing the site and does NOT have that font, will be able to see the text in THAT font?
thanks for the infos… thing is the textbox is on the main timeline and not within another object, placed to exact pixels…so still partially blurry…then clear then again blurry…
I found this thread as result to a search and am having the same prob with a bunch of movieClips containing static text using pixel fonts. I have been changing the movieClip’s Y pos .1 at a time while testing it until everything looks better.
Freddythunder, unfortunately no, MX doesn’t handle text very well. To be on the safe side, I always make sure all my movieclips are on exact pixels right from the start when I’m building my site. It’s way too much hassle to have everything done and then going back and adjusting things.
just to add some of my experience
i alwasy put my window to 100% when placing textfields in my movie
not sure why but that works
also
your width of the text box + your x coordinate of the text box should equal to a whole number
lets say your width is 50.3 then your x coordinate should be lets say 34.7
the y coordinate should always be whole number
these things have worked for me pretty well so hopefully they work for you
Yeah, that’s why I’m confused. I’m at full screen and when I started all of my movieClips AND dynamic text boxes were on whole numbers. They only appeared clear when I switched them to off-pixel numbers. That’s why I was asking - I’ll just play with it until it’s clear. This is what I’m doing: http://www.freddythunder.com/md/navigation.swf
