Still cant make text readable

I’m having a big problem making my text clear and legible. I tried all the different options I know of, FFF fonts, dynamic text, everything, but all of them have a problem. Dynamic text has to be embedded because it is behind a mask layer (I cannot change this) and the FFF fonts get messed up when I load this movie into another one. The fla is too big to post but I will gladly email it if anyone wants to see what I am talking about. Any help greatly appreciated!

Make sure that your text falls on exact pixels. If not, your fonts will look blurry. (-:

I know. I tried that. The text is clear when I preview the swf but when I load that movie into another one, it becomes blurry. Both are on exact pixels and scaled to 100 percent. I can’t figure out whats wrong.

Is the empty movieClip that you are loading the movie into on exact pixels too? If so, then I’m not sure. You may also want to do a search on pixel fonts here. I remember reading a bunch of threads on it. Maybe there’s an answer there that I don’t know. Good luck!

Yes it is. I’m lost as to why. Thanks for your help. I looked around a bit but I can check it out some more.

1 more thing I thought of when rereading your post.

  1. Is your text dynamically changing? If not, change it to static, see if that makes a difference. Another thing, if you embed fonts using dynamic text when the text stays the same is bad. It adds the font into the SWF making your file size bigger (in case you were unaware).

No it isnt changing but it goes back to my original problem. This whole thing is to try and make the text readable. Dynamic text looks a lot crisper than static text but when you embed it, that ruins the effect. I know it makes the file size bigger but if it makes it readable I think it’s worth it.

Ok guys (and girls), I mostly fixed my problem by physically testing something like 50 different pixel values until I found one that looked pretty sharp. Not the fastest way to do it but it worked out ok. Thanks for all of your help everyone.
