Alpha and saving in previous version

I’m trying to fade a word in on a menu. I’m used to version 5 but don’t seem to have the same options in mx 2004. How do I do a simple alpha fade?

Also, how can I save to version 5?

For fading text, embed the font:)
I don’t think you can save as Flash5, but let someone correct me if I’m wrong…
