Animating Lines

When I create this mask effect, the lines animate(makes it seem like a line is being drawn). But after the mask goes thru the lines, the end of the lines gets cut off. Do I need to make the mask as long/big as the line so when it draws the line in, the line stays.

To make things more clear:

I want this:

------------------------- <-being drawn in

not “----” this much being drawn in when it animates.

OKay. A mask will only show what is underneath it.

You will need to make the mask as long as the line itself.

1st keyframe (frame 1) have the mask just on the left of your line.

2nd keyframe (where you want the effect to finish) just have the mask covering the whole line (on top of the line completely)

NOw do motion tween…and voila!

what exactly is it you want to do?? jst use a shape tween of the line, im attaching a fla so you can see how its done :beam:
