Another 3DSM Question: Hiding polygons

I know that you can hide other objects in your scene but is there a way to hide polygons on a model that you are working on like you can do in Lightwave? I’m working on a car model and its frusterating when you try to select a point or polygon face and it selects others that are on the back of the model instead of the one you are trying to select.
