Any suggestions?

Hey everyone, I’m new here and pretty new to Flashing… Just wanted some friendly and constructive critisism…

I’m redoing my ANCIENT old HTML site from the dinosaur age…

Let me know what you all think… I havent finished the ‘photos’ or the ‘stuff’ section. my first website attempt in Flash is here:

Any pointers would be gladly welcomed… Theres A LOT I need to learn about the program, I know…

very clean and hip looking - nice use of flash

flash site: pretty clean interface. But some elements make it look less professional. Especially the blicking eye anim. That’s just not good enough illustration to be pro (personal opinion here of course…).
The way the fonts are set up in the menu items is not very ellegant. An the huge logo/anim with the ball is ok for the intro but it stays there the whole time and makes the whole thing rather unbalanced 'cause it never changes to reflect where you are. It give the impression you always stay on the intro page…
Don’t mean to be harsh… Just trying to go beyong the “cool dude!” feed back that is nice but not very useful (personal opinion here, again… )

I liked it… Since you stated you were new to flash I think you are on a great start. Please do a site check as you upgrade the site. I am brand new to flash as well, so I do not feel inclinded to critique, but I really did like it.

thanks guys. I appreciate the tips. Yeah, I’m actually not too crazy about it now that I have been more exposed to Flash sites. And about the text at the bottom right, for some reason it looks a lot different on my monitor, but it definitely is too hard to read. I would do it a lot differently if i did it again… oh well.

anyways, thanks for the advice!

oh and I hadnt learned how to do preloaders at that time… :-\

Too much blue. Some neat stuff happening. You use so much screen space for your logo and then so little space at the bottom for your content. I would load some content over your logo on the left or something.
