Apocalyptica

Hey guys, I was just shown an awesome cover of the classic Metallica ballad ‘One’, performed by a finnish group called apocalyptica. Here’s the juicy part: it wasn’t performed by guitarists, but cellists! (whoa!?) Check the live performance here:

Enjoy!

Oh my god, I love Apocalyptica!

I even got my super-prim and proper friend into them, 'cause she plays cello. Like, a year ago, I was like “check out this band; they’re cello-driven metal!” and last week I went on her xanga and her background music was them. :]

And thanks for the link!
You can also watch some of their videos on their site; they have some awesome not-just-instrumental stuff.

Isn’t One by Metallica the most “covered” songs of all times along with “Tainted Love”?

Man… Despite all the Metallica haters and the controversies and the flaming, they’re the only ones who really came through!

Posuer: Sweet, thanks a ton! I love their video clips. And I’ll be sure to introduce Apocalyptica to my cellist friend. She’s into classical stuff, but she’d probably appreciate the stunning musicianship of the band.

lonephoenix: I’m not really sure. Oddly enough, I thought One was the most underperformed song of all time… Fade to Black has got to be overperformed everywhere, but I’m not sure if it’s the most covered song.
