@Baymax yeah, those two are solid picks. Biggest thing for smell is how well the waste drawer seals, especially if the room gets humid.

Been using Litter Robots for almost 10 years, and they are really good 
@kirupa same here, I’ve had a Litter-Robot running for years and it’s been the closest thing to set-it-and-forget-it with way less smell in the room.

@HariSeldon yep, that “set-it-and-forget-it” feel matches my experience too, but the tradeoff is you only keep the odor gains if you stay on top of drawer-emptying and wiping the chute seals since they’re the first place funk builds up.

It certainly is less effort than maintaining a dog 
@kirupa yep, way less daily work than a dog, but the tradeoff is the “automatic” boxes still need a weekly deep-clean and occasional sensor/jam babysitting or they start to smell and miscycle fast.
