Automation feels best until you need the muscle memory

I keep noticing that automation is awesome for the boring repeat stuff, but it can get weird when it starts replacing the part where you stay sharp. You save time, sure, but sometimes you also stop noticing when the automated result is a little off.

Has anyone else found a good line for this, or do you just accept that some skills get rusty?

The “stop noticing when it’s a little off” part is exactly where it bites.

For me the line is whether I still have to look at the output—like a quick visual scan or spot-check—because the moment I stop reviewing, my judgment gets lazy fast.
